Aapka data,aapke phone par
आपका डेटा, आपके पास
Your data stays with you. UPSC Darpan, Baal Darpan and Darpan Vidyadhaam have no accounts and no database: what a child or a learner does is saved only on their own phone or computer, and we never receive it.
Kya rakha jaata hai · What is stored
Only on this device, nowhere else
Seedhi baat: jo bhi aap ya aapka bachcha app mein karta hai, woh sirf isi phone ke browser mein rehta hai. Plainly: everything stays in this phone's browser storage (called "localStorage").
What is saved
The name you type (if any), the class or batch, lessons finished, quiz answers and scores, saved cards, notes, diary lines, Mann ka Mausam, Meri Raah results and screen settings such as language and theme.
Where it is saved
Only in the browser of this phone or computer. It is not sent to us or to anyone else. upscdarpan.in and baaldarpan.in keep separate stores, so progress on one does not show on the other.
No account, no login
Koi account nahi, koi password nahi. There is no sign-up, no e-mail or phone number asked, and no server that could hold your child's data.
Offline copy
To work without internet, the app keeps a copy of its own pages and today's lessons on the device. This copy holds no personal data and is replaced with every update.
Error notes
If something breaks, a short technical note (time, page, error text, with numbers and e-mails blanked) is kept on the device. It leaves only if you tap "Report a problem", read the text and choose to send it yourself.
Backup is yours
Changing phones? Profile → "Download my backup" makes a file that stays with you; "Restore from backup" puts it on the new phone. We never see that file.
Sab mitaana · Deleting
How to delete everything
In the app (upscdarpan.in or baaldarpan.in) open Profile, go to "My data, my device" and tap "Delete all my data on this device". It erases the profile, progress, notes, Baal lessons and Raah results from this device and clears the offline copy. It cannot be undone, so download a backup first if you may want it later.
Another way: in your browser's settings, clear the "site data" for upscdarpan.in or baaldarpan.in. Because nothing is stored with us, there is nothing for us to delete on our side.
Koi tracking nahi · No tracking
No ads, no trackers, no selling
No ads, no profiling
No advertising, no advertising cookies, no third-party analytics or tracking scripts, and no profile of any child is built or sold. Free forever.
Anonymous count: OFF unless a parent turns it on
Baal Darpan has one optional switch, "Gumnaam ginti", under "Bade log ke liye" on a class page. It is off on every device until a parent or teacher switches it on. When on, it sends only the class and the step (for example "ghanti poori"), at most once a day each: no name, no answers, no cookie, no device ID. Turn it off again at any time.
Our host and fonts
The pages are served by Netlify, which, like any web host, sees the technical details of each request (such as the IP address) to deliver the page and keep it secure. The pages also load typefaces from Google Fonts, so your browser fetches them from Google's servers, which see the IP address and the page address. We set no cookies.
Bachche aur kanoon · Children and the law
The DPDP Act, 2023
India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 says that before anyone processes the personal data of a child (a person under 18), they must have the verifiable consent of a parent or lawful guardian, and must not track, monitor the behaviour of, or target advertising at children.
Darpan is built so that a child's personal data is never sent to us: it stays on the family's own device. If we ever add a feature that would send any child's data to us, such as an account or cloud sync, we will ask for a parent's verifiable consent first and update this page before that feature goes live.
This page explains our practice in plain words. It is not legal advice.
